There seems to be some highly congruent agreement amongst top industry analysts— location-based marketing is proven and available technology that, ultimately, can provide companies with tools that provide immediate value as locations attempt to transition to the new normal, yet ever-changing consumer environment.

Gartner, Forrester Research, IDC, and ABI Research, all respected industry analyst leaders, play an undeniably important role in identifying and analyzing future market opportunities, not only in our industry, but countless others. We are excited that these organizations have chosen to include Cloud4Wi in their reporting, even if each of those firms has different names for the kind of work we do, how we go about doing it, and the help we provide to clients.

For any readers with advisory firm subscriptions, it is well worth reading the opinions of these leading analysts and how they explain emerging market trends, patterns, and expectations. We’ve provided a high-level summary of those reports below for your viewing.

Gartner

This report is a cross-vertical market guide where Gartner provides a summary of the Indoor Location Application Platforms (ILAP) space and provides a brief write-up of 20 companies, both large and small. Gartner listed Cloud4Wi as a representative vendor.

According to Gartner, “Since our last iteration of this Market Guide in August 2017, we have seen uninterrupted interest in indoor application platforms among Gartner clients. We have also seen the realization and adoption of indoor location technology across many different verticals, including retail, healthcare, retail banking, construction, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, natural resources, utilities and the public sector.”

Perhaps more importantly, is a report that corroborates the quick and transitory impact of the aforementioned information provided by Gartner titled Emerging Technologies: Revenue Opportunity Projection of Indoor Location Services. In this complementary report, several alarming projections are made based on empirical market research.

The above report shares that the indoor location services market will reach $55 billion in revenue by 2030, up from $1.9 billion in 2021. Furthermore, the report indicates, “Product leaders must form partnerships as this market will cross the early adopter chasm and reach early mainstream by 2026.” The time has never been more pressing than now to adopt the proper technologies to accompany these changes within the consumer market.

Few documents engender more vigorous debate on a specific market segment than Gartner’s Magic Quadrant reports. Importantly, along with individual vendor selection and position within the quadrant, Gartner reviews the industry’s direction and evaluates new trends. In the latest Magic Quadrant for the Wired and Wireless LAN Access Infrastructure industry, a significant industry shift is identified.

According to Gartner, “Evolving enterprise requirements for greater access layer intelligence and automation continue challenging networking vendors. Infrastructure and operations leaders should evaluate wired and wireless LAN infrastructure based on increasingly complex needs for access network services and management.”

Cloud4Wi is mentioned in this Gartner Magic Quadrant for the Wired and Wireless LAN Access Infrastructure report.

This is Gartner’s first report about this particular space and comprehensively identifies innovative technologies in Location. Companies selected for Gartner’s Cool Vendor report are chosen for being overall innovative, impactful, and intriguing.

According to Gartner, “Location is an important criterion necessary to manage an asset. I&O leaders can employ innovative technologies and applications that use one or more options to provide the location of an asset, no matter where it is located, at any time.” Cloud4Wi was included in the Cool Vendors in Location Services and Applications report.

Additional vendors featured in the Cool Vendors in Locations and Services and Applications report, other than Cloud4Wi, include GeoSpark, GiPStech, and Wyres.

Forrester Research

Friction, of course, can be bad, but there is such a thing as too slick of an experience. One customer inadvertently purchased six figures worth of data because the checkout process was so slick that it gave them no moment for pause. Companies that prioritise frictionless experiences above all else risk alienating customers and missing out on opportunities. While you want to avoid unwanted delays at emotional peaks and at the end of the journey, mistimed interventions that interrupt key tasks, and friction during service-recovery journeys, there is such a thing as good friction.

A new crop of emerging technologies, and the solutions they power, will unleash a new cycle of rising expectations from buyers and employees, as well as changing behaviors and disruption. This report reviews the state of the store tracking and analytics market and outlines the potential of these solutions to inform the planning and operation of retail technology strategies in the post-pandemic “new normal” for retail stores.

Retail stores have been living in an analytical “dark age” as compared with digital channels, relegated to measurement techniques that rarely consider customer behavior. However, advances in in-store customer sensor and analytics technologies are transforming how digital business professionals and retailers win, serve, and retain customers within the physical store. This report examines key metrics unleashed by retail store technologies to measure in-store customer behaviors and the associate analytics retailers should use to guide the transformation of the in-store customer experience. Cloud4Wi is the ONLY vendor mentioned in the WiFi category within the Prada Success Story.
