SAN FRANCISCO – May 20, 2014 – Cloud4Wi, the leading provider of next-generation cloud Wi-Fi solutions, has released a new software development kit (SDK) to enable third-party developers to design apps for its Wi-Fi marketplace platform, expanding the ecosystem of Wi-Fi monetizing solutions and delivering greater network value to organizations with Wi-Fi offerings. Cloud4Wi will launch the new SDK at Cisco Live, Cisco’s annual IT and communications conference, at Moscone Center in San Francisco this week. Cloud4Wi can be found at Booth #2612 in Moscone Center.

With the Cloud4Wi platform, Wi-Fi venues can easily create and customize a complete managed Wi-Fi service and capture valuable end-user demographics and purchasing patterns to help with brand promotion and direct marketing campaigns. Benefits of the service include integrated social media login, backend analytics, customer hotspot usage data and integration with a wide variety of Wi-Fi equipment providers.
“Our goal is to build a dynamic community of Cloud4Wi application developers who can use our SDK to tap into the power of the first Wi-Fi marketplace platform for monetizing Wi-Fi,” said Andrea Calcagno, CEO of Cloud4Wi. “ Developers can generate their own innovative, creative solutions and seize the very lucrative revenue opportunity Wi-Fi offers. Anyone can develop consumer applications and business solutions, such as CRM apps, over the Cloud4Wi platform.”
Developers interested in creating apps using the SDK do not need to install anything. Developers can use whatever programming language they prefer. The “connectors” between the app and Cloud4Wi platform must be standard (API concept). Thus, the programming environment for each Cloud4Wi app is a kind of black box. Development is carried out through web tools which can be accessed here.
Cloud4Wi recently established a new North American presence, moving its headquarters to San Francisco from its previous base in Pisa, Italy. The company has also expanded its global managed services provider (MSP) program into North America from Europe. North American MSPs can now take full advantage of the $8.5 billion global Wi-Fi market. The partner program provides managed Wi-Fi services—including the industry’s first Wi-Fi marketplace offering—that are tailored to the unique requirements of individual venues, industries and users.
